Volunteer Opportunities

Have you ever thought about volunteering but weren't sure about what to do or how to get started?

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission is a recognized leader in offering a wide range of "close-to-home" volunteer opportunities for individuals, groups, families, teenagers and adults. The success of many of our programs and events depends directly on the efforts of our volunteers! And there's a bonus: volunteering can be fun.

Individuals 13 years and over can find volunteer opportunities all year round in recreation programs and park facilities in either Montgomery or Prince George's Counties. Whether you are seeking to fulfill your Student Service Learning requirement for public high school graduation, working with neighbors on an environmental project, or exploring ways to satisfy community service hours, we've got several ways for you to get involved.

Our policy governing the use of volunteers requires background checks and finger-printing. Interested in becoming a Commission volunteer?
