Saturday, November 4, 2017

Part of STEAM Fest 2017 - Science

Wild Rice has been restored to the marshes at Jug Bay! Is it will be a vital food resource for migrating birds, Sora rails, waterfowl and humans for generations to come. Participants will:
  • Observe the rice kernels under the microscope
  • Learn why it is considered a "perfect food"
  • Participate in a food tasting! Try the wild rice cooked and explore the creatures that use the rice marshes to refuel and refresh on their long fall journeys.
