28th Annual Winter Festival of Lights
Enjoy your holidays with a tour of Watkins Regional Park’s spectacular drive-through displays featuring more than a million twinkling lights! The Festival of Lights will be open nightly beginning Nov. 28 through Jan. 1, from 5-9:30 pm! Don’t forget to bring canned goods for donation to area food banks and shelters.

Park Improvements Begin at Woodlawn Park
M-NCPPC Montgomery Parks has begun construction work on the Stone Barn and Carriage House at Woodlawn Park. Construction is expected to last through the spring of 2015. The grounds around Woodlawn Manor House, gazebo garden, event tent and Underground Railroad Experience Trail will remain open during construction. Purple Line
Design is currently underway for the Purple Line, a proposed 16-mile light rail line with 21 stations, which will run from Bethesda to New Carrollton and provide direct connections to Metrorail, local and inter-city bus, the MARC train and Amtrak. An east-west route connector for Montgomery and Prince George's counties, the Purple Line has been under study since 1992. Read more»
