Queen Anne Natural Area is located in what was once Queen Anne, a colonial port town dating back to 1706. This was a major river crossing from Southern Maryland to Annapolis. The park has over 4 miles of scenic woodland trails for hikers, bicyclists and horseback riders. The river is tidal, so a Chesapeake  Bay and Coastal Sport License is required for all anglers 16 and older.

The property also provides access to the river for canoes and kayaks. The site has a floating dock, parking facilities and is a launch site for the Patuxent Water Trail. The river is susceptible to seasonal flooding so visitors are encouraged to check river conditions and plan ahead. Access is restricted.
