Classification and Compensation Division of Human Resources and Management Our Mission The mission of the Department of Human Resources and Management is to provide quality corporate management and human resource systems; to perform with integrity, innovation, responsiveness; and to provide caring customer service. The Human Resources Division provides comprehensive services designed to attract and retain a highly motivated and competent work force. The Classification and Compensation Team is responsible for the development, implementation, administration, and maintenance of equitable classification and pay plans for all Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) employees. The principal responsibilities of the team are to: -
Administer a classification system that analyzes and evaluates positions based upon duties, responsibilities, and minimum qualifications. This includes analysis of individual request for reclassification and administration of the Reclassification Certification Program. Create and maintain classification specifications . -
Administer the Commission’s compensation plans. Maintain all salary schedules . -
Conduct and participate in salary surveys to determine the Commission’s position relative to the market for classified positions. -
Update and maintain the Commission’s position management system. -
Review and assist departments in reorganizations. -
Manage the Internship Program. -
