The Maryland-National Park and Planning Commission is committed to providing a learning environment for all employees.

A core value of M-NCPPC is to have skilled and knowledgeable employees that provide quality service to all customers. This requires keeping staff up-to-date on essential workplace issues and by promoting learning and development.

The Commission must maintain a competent workforce in order to meet the demands of a changing environment.Our goal is to develop and improve individual, team, program, and organizational effectiveness over the long-term. This is achieved by cultivating leadership development, building relationships, navigating the system, and improving technical expertise.

With nearly 25% of the workforce becoming eligible for retirement by 2011, succession planning will ensure a smooth transition.
