About Us

Community Planning

The Community Planning Divisions of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission in both Prince George’s and Montgomery County are responsible for creating Master Plans to guide future physical land use development and revitalization. Planners in these divisions work with residents and community stakeholders to identify priorities for communities, create long-range plans, and identify implementation strategies.

Currently, both counties of the M-NCPPC are working with residents from the Takoma/Langley Crossroads area to revise the existing Master Plans for an area approximately one-half mile from the intersection of University Boulevard (MD 193) and New Hampshire Avenue (MD 650). This effort is being undertaken to balance growth and development changes anticipated by the future Purple Line transit station in the Takoma/Langley Crossroads. For more information about the project see our project overview page or contact us.
