Joint Bi-County Master Plan Process

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) is the agency responsible for creating master plans and day-to-day planning responsibilities in both Prince George’s and Montgomery County. The Bi-County nature of M-NCPPC will provide a good foundation to begin working towards a true Bi-County sector plan for the Takoma/Langley Crossroads area. However, each County has over time adopted different rules and procedures for completing Master Plans in each respective county. This has resulted in different time frames and planning milestones that the respective planning divisions in each county are responsible for adhering to when completing a sector plan. During the pre-planning phase of this project each respective county’s M-NCPPC planning divisions have been working towards balancing county goals and administrative procedures related to this planning project. This work is intended to create a process that will balance county procedures and best serve area residents and stakeholders participating in the planning process.

For more information about the planning process, please contact one of the community planners.
