At
this meeting,
refinements
that were made
to the planning
concepts of the
charrette were
presented. These
refined concepts
are leading up
to the Draft
Preliminary
Master Plan and
Sectional Map
Amendment (SMA)
for the new
Bowie and Vicinity
Master Plan that
will be taken
to
he Prince George’s
County Planning
Board in January
2005 for permission
to print in advance
of the Joint
Public Hearing.
This new
plan/SMA will
replace the existing
1991
Bowie-Collington-Mitchellville
and Vicinity
Master Plan/SMA.
Once
adopted by the
District Council
(scheduled for
January 2006),
this master plan
will guide decision-makers
on land use,
zoning, and public
facilities
planning and
programming.
