NEWS BRIEF

The city of Hyattsville continues to negotiate with a local architect/urban designer/market expert to prepare a draft development plan and regulation. The draft plan and regulation will include standards that proposed development will be required to meet to demonstrate conformance to the plan.

On November 8, 2002, Councilman Shapiro and the Gateway Arts District Sector Plan staff team held a roundtable session in Hyattsville with developers and property owners. About 15 local and regional developers participated. The information collected in the session will be useful in the preparation of the Hyattsville Town Center Development Plan.

On May 20 and June 17, 2003, the city held two workshops on the Comprehensive Revitalization Plan of which the Hyattsville Mixed-Use Town Center Development Plan was a component.
