Two basic concepts were presented for discussion.
They differed primarily in the materials
used
for their construction (one concept envisioned
stone and brick construction; the other featured
metalwork). Seat Pleasant scheduled a follow-up
meeting with the utility companies to discuss
possible relocation of a utility pole from
the town’s preferred sign site. The
meeting was held July 30, 2003.
M-NCPPC met with State Highway Administration
(SHA) representatives at the SHA District 3 (Greenbelt)
office to discuss general design constraints
for any gateway signs erected in state right-of-ways.
This meeting occurred July 31, 2003. Based on
this meeting, M-NCPPC was able to provide additional
guidance to RBA in narrowing its design focus
to a single general concept for the gateway signs
along Martin Luther King, Jr. Highway (MD 704).
