PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Goal

  • To conduct an initial assessment of the physical, economic and social development potential in this corridor, the relationship of that potential to the proposed Bicounty Transit Way (formerly Purple line), and propose additional actions for FY 2004 and beyond.

Objective

  • To build upon the International Corridor Issues Study conducted in FY 2002. With the governor's announcement in 2002 of a preferred inner alignment for theBi-County Transitway (formerly Purple Line), a strategy is needed to address the planning, zoning and development issues identified in the study. A decision to proceed with construction is expected for the transitway by 2007, and service is expected to start by 2012.

Status

  • The project has been completed
