Trails, Bikeways and Pedestrian Mobility
The Transportation Planning Section is responsible for the following tasks related to bicycle, pedestrian, and trail planning:
The development and implementation of the pedestrian, bikeway, and trail mobility element of the Countywide Master Plan of Transportation.
The development of facility recommendations for inclusion in sector plans and area master plans.
The evaluation of development applications for adequate bicycle and pedestrian access and the implementation of master plan recommendations.
Facilitates the
Prince George's County Active Transportation Advisory Group (ATAG)
.
Participates in the
Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Bicycle and Pedestrian Subcommittee
.
Serve on the
Governor's Maryland Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee
as required.
Work towards the implementation of the Countywide Master Plan of Transportation with the M-NCPPC Department of Parks and Recreation, Department of Public Works and Transportation, State Highway Administration, and National Park Service.
