Walker Mill Turf Field will close for renovations beginning Monday, October 31st until further notice. For questions or concerns, please email Athletic.Permits@pgparks.com

The Department of Parks and Recreation maintains an extensive inventory of diamond (baseball, kickball, softball, t-ball, etc.) and rectangle (football, lacrosse, soccer, etc.) fields to be permitted for youth and adult practice, training, game and tournament play. Fields are permitted for the intent of athletic use, with requests managed by the Youth and Countywide Sports Division.

Artificial Turf Fields


There are three rectangle, artificial turf fields available for year-round permit. Each field is located on the grounds of Heurich Community Park, Walker Mill Regional Park, and Woodmore Towne Center. For more information, please call 301-446-6800 or email athletic.permits@pgparks.com.

Natural Grass Fields

There are numerous diamond and rectangle fields available for seasonal permit throughout the county. For additional information, please read below, or call at 301-446-6800 or email athletic.permits@pgparks.com.

Regardless of the weather, grass fields are not rented out in December, January, February or March.

Note: SPRING football/soccer fields are for Non-Overlay fields only. Fields that overlay baseball/softball fields will be considered a baseball/softball field during the spring.

Prince George's Public School System (PGCPS) Fields

Applications for PGCPS Fields must be submitted via the PGCPS Community Use Portal. Visit the Prince George's County Public Schools for more information.

Baseball & Softball Tournament Sites

Seven diamond athletic field sites (see below) are available for both adult and youth baseball/softball tournaments. For more information about the tournament request processes, email Athletic.Permits@pgparks.com.
