The Department of Parks and Recreation offers many opportunities to learn and play the game of softball. Introduce your child to the game through one of our school coach-led clinics, play the game in one of our recreational leagues or our RBI summer league.

League Play

Spring leagues are offered for participants aged 9-12 in cooperation with the Prince George’s County Boys & Girls Club. Games are played between May 1st and June 30th. Leagues are set up for the following levels of play: Kid Pitch-Minors(ages 9-11) and Kid Pitch-Majors(ages 11-12). League age is based on your child’s age as of January 1st of the current year. RBI Softball League:

For the older ages, The Department of Parks and Recreation is an official MLB/RBI League. MLB/RBI is an initiative developed to “Revive Baseball in Inner Cities”. There is one division for play ages 13-18. League play begins in May and registration starts in April. All-Stars from this league will be selected to represent Prince George’s County in the MLB/RBI Mid-Atlantic Regional in Late July. Prince George’s County RBI has a rich history of participation and hopes to continue to grow the program. Registration is held either by team or individual players.

Softball Seasons
