A $10,000 Post-Retirement Death Benefit is paid to the listed beneficiary(ies) or the retiree's estate following the retiree's death. This death benefit is in addition to any survivorship option chosen at the time of retirement.
In order to designate a beneficiary(ies) for the Post-Retirement Death Benefit, the Form, Designation of Beneficiaries for $10,000 Post-Retirement Death Benefit, must be completed at the time of retirement.
Retirees can add or change the beneficiary(ies) any time by completing Form, Revised Designation of Beneficiaries for $10,000 Post-Retirement Death Benefit.
