2023 MINOR PLAN AMENDMENT TO THE 2009 APPROVED COUNTYWIDE MPOT
Joint Public Hearing
On September 12, 2023, at 6:00 p.m., the Prince George’s County Council (sitting as the District Council) and the Planning Board will hold a Joint Public Hearing on the Minor Plan Amendment. Staff will present the Minor Plan Amendment, and interested persons will have the opportunity to attend and provide public comment, either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Minor Plan Amendment.
How to participate
The Prince George's County Council will meet in person in the Council Hearing Room. To register to speak and submit comments or written testimony, please use the Council’s eComment portal at: https://pgccouncil.us/Speak
For those unable to use the portal, comments/written correspondence may be emailed to: clerkofthecouncil@co.pg.md.us or faxed to 301-952-5178. Registration to speak should be completed by 3:00 p.m. on the day BEFORE the hearing.
On-site registration is now available; however, advance registration to testify is strongly encouraged. Speakers will be given 3 minutes to speak. Written comments may be submitted through the close of business on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, when the record of public hearing testimony will close. Testimony and comments will not be accepted via social media or telephone/voice mail. These policies are in effect until further notice. Any future changes to them will be communicated on the County Council website, County Council social media channels, via Alert Prince George’s, and shared with the press via a press release.

Initiation of Minor Plan Amendment
On July 18, 2023, the Prince George’s County Council, sitting as the District Council initiated a Minor Plan Amendment to the 2009 Approved Countywide Master Plan of Transportation through CR-072-2023The purpose of this Minor Plan Amendment to the 2009 Approved Countywide Master Plan of Transportation is to add language to the Master Plan of Transportation indicating exceptions from right-of-way preservation for several properties within the master-planned interchange between the US 301 bypass of Upper Marlboro, a planned limited-access freeway known as F-10, and MD 4 (Stephanie Roper Highway), and to delete the portion of the master-planned interchange where these properties are located from subsequent right-of-way mapping.
This process was initiated by the County Council of Prince George’s County, Maryland sitting as the District Council through CR-072-2023, adopted on July 18, 2023.
