The Corridor Sectional Map Amendment Project consists of 3 components:
This project is essential because the Zoning Ordinance will not permit an SMA for the Subregion 4 TOD Implementation Project area as it is currently written. An SMA is required to implement the Addison Road Regulating Plan per the provisions of
Subtitle 27A and will be necessary should either of the 2 existing overlay zones need to be amended. To communicate a cohesive vision for the Central Avenue Corridor and to facilitate development, this project will also create a user-friendly summary of urban design standards and guidelines.
Milestones
- Change the existing zoning along the corridor
- Conduct public education and outreach
- Create legislation to amend the Zoning Ordinance
- Initiate and draft the SMA
- Prepare urban design summary
