We strive to meet the childcare needs of families in Prince George's County by offering fun, recreational programs at affordable prices. These programs are licensed by and operate under the guidelines of the Maryland State Department of Education Office of Child Care. With convenient locations throughout the county, our child care facilities are staffed by caring, qualified people dedicated to creating a nurturing environment for every child.
- Our programs operate at select Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission sites during the school year for children ages 5-12. Program operates in conjunction with Prince George's County School System's calendar. When County schools are closed for full days, all child care programs are also closed.
- For Prince George's County residents only
- Completed health forms are mandatory for participation in this program
- Bus transportation is provided by Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS)
Child Care Programs
M-NCPPC offers a variety of recreation-focused Child Care programs, all licensed through the Maryland State Department of Education’s Office of Child Care. Every program hires quality-trained staff to ensure your children have a safe and secure place to learn and thrive in. We strive to ensure high quality programing at affordable prices for all Prince George’s County residents.
Transportation is not provided to/from these programs (unless otherwise noted by the individual program) and parents are encouraged to drop-off or go through PGCPS transportation to ensure children arrive to program on time.
All programs are first come; first serve, so we recommend registering ahead of time to ensure your spot in a program. Pre-school Programs
Our licensed pre-school programs operate on a half-day schedule and are available at sites throughout the county for children ages 3-5 (minimum age by August 31). Children will participate in age and developmentally appropriate activities that promote gross and fine motor skill development, building the foundation for early education, and promotes early social and emotional skills.
- Children must be toilet trained (unless the child has a qualified disability).
- Pre-School operates in conjunction with the PGCPS’ calendar. When county schools are closed for full days, Pre-School is also closed.

Morning Kids’ Care
Our licensed Morning Care programs operate before PGCPS school’s open and are available at select sites throughout the county for children ages 5-12 (minimum age by August 31). Children will enjoy a variety of activities focused on entertaining and energizing them for the start of their school day.
Morning Care operates in conjunction with the PGCPS’ calendar. When county schools have a delayed opening or are closed for the full day, Morning Care programs are also closed.

Kids’ Care After-School
Our licensed Kids’ Care After-School programs open right after PGCPS school’s let out and are available throughout the county for children ages 5-12 (minimum age by August 31). Kids’ Care Afterschool provide structured recreation activities in the areas of sports, arts and crafts, reading, storytelling, music, film, drama, science, nature, and special events, as well as free, unstructured time for recreational pursuits as well as setting some time aside for homework assistance and studying.
Kids’ Care After-School programs operate in conjunction with the PGCPS’ calendar. When county schools are closed for the full day, these programs are also closed. Programs will open early for scheduled PGCPS early dismissal days. In the event of unscheduled early dismissals due to inclement weather, building emergencies, or other causes, these programs will receive children and contact parents to coordinate pick-ups within a two-hour window.

Kids’ Club At Fairland
Kids' Club is a licensed after-school programs held at the Fairland Sports and Aquatics Complex for children ages 5-7 and 8-12 (minimum age by August 31). Our programs utilizes the various amenities located at the facility to offer children a multitude of developmentally appropriate sports, fitness, and learning activities such as swimming, gymnastics, tennis, fitness games, indoor and outdoor activities, and arts & crafts, as well as setting some time aside for homework assistance and studying.
The Kids’ Club after-school program operate in conjunction with the PGCPS’ calendar. When county schools are closed for the full day, these programs are also closed. Programs will open early for scheduled PGCPS early dismissal days. In the event of unscheduled early dismissals due to inclement weather, building emergencies, or other causes, these programs will receive children and contact parents to coordinate pick-ups within a two-hour window.

Therapeutic Recreation Kids’ Care After-School (Ages 5-21)
Our Therapeutic Recreation Kids’ Care After-School Programs is a licensed after school program offered at M-NCPPC sites throughout the county designed specifically for individuals with disabilities who reside in Prince George’s County 6 – 21, are currently enrolled in school, and receive Special Education services. This programs feature small group sizes, high staff/participant ratios, adapted equipment and more.
Therapeutic Recreation Kids’ Care After-School programs operate in conjunction with the PGCPS’ calendar. When county schools are closed for the full day, these programs are also closed. Programs will open early for scheduled PGCPS early dismissal days. In the event of unscheduled early dismissals due to inclement weather, building emergencies, or other causes, these programs will receive children and contact parents to coordinate pick-ups within a two-hour window.

Therapeutic Recreation Leisure & Life Skills for Teens (Ages 13-21)
Our Therapeutic Recreation Leisure & Life Skills for Teens is a licensed after school program offered at M-NCPPC sites throughout the county designed for youth ages 13 - 21 who attend CRI classes at Prince George’s County middle or high schools. This program focuses on social and recreation skill development with opportunities for community integration and socialization with youth without disabilities.
Therapeutic Recreation Leisure & Life Skills for Teens programs operate in conjunction with the PGCPS’ calendar. When county schools are closed for the full day, these programs are also closed. Programs will open early for scheduled PGCPS early dismissal days. In the event of unscheduled early dismissals due to inclement weather, building emergencies, or other causes, these programs will receive children and contact parents to coordinate pick-ups within a two-hour window.

Disability Modifications
The Department of Parks & Recreation encourages and supports the participation of individuals with disabilities. Register a minimum of two weeks in advance of the program start date to request a disability modification.
