The Sweetest Taboo: Marriage and Cohabitation Among Maryland's Enslaved Communities

In conjunction with our wedding exhibit, Maya Davis of the Maryland State Archives will present her talk, focusing on the cohabitation practices and policies relating to enslaved men and women in Maryland. It will also highlight the laws relating to marriage that impacted the enslaved.
