Unwind Outdoors with Montgomery Parks’ Sunset Yoga

July 6, 2026

WHEATON, Md. – Montgomery Parks invites the community to start the week with Sunset Yoga, a free beginner yoga class on the shores of Lake Needwood on Monday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m., starting on July 13.

Mondays can be stressful and Sunset Yoga is an opportunity to unwind from the day, breathe in fresh air, and enjoy nature while flowing through a meditative outdoor yoga practice. The class will include step-by-step instructions and offer variations to accommodate all flexibility and fitness levels. Each class is a drop-in event, so no registration is required.

“Sunset Yoga is a wonderful way for residents to experience the restorative power of nature while nurturing their own health and well-being,” said Michael Coppersmith, director of Montgomery Parks Activation. “We’re excited to offer this free program where people of all experience levels can unwind, connect with nature, and start the week feeling refreshed.”
